UPS Air Cargo
Distribution Center, DFW Airport
Dallas, Texas (Dallas County)
Architect: Halff & Associates
Developer/Owner:
United Parcel Service
Approximate Size: 340,000 SF
This
technologically advanced distribution center was built by Bob Moore Construction,
Inc. for United Parcel Service in 1995. Upon completion of this 340,000 SF building,
it was capable of handling 46,000 parcels per hour on a state-of-the-art conveyor
and sorting system. Since that time, UPS called on Bob Moore Construction as general
contractor to expand the distribution center by 24,000 SF. Thanks to that successful
expansion project, production increased in excess of 20 percent.
Located at DFW Airport and serving Dallas, Ft. Worth, north Texas and the southwest region of the United States, the facility is designed to accommodate 19 jet aircraft including Boeing 757s, 767s and 747s. Portions of the facility are more than 60 feet tall.
