When
one of the nation's top defense contractors needed a new missile manufacturing
facility, Bob Moore Construction was chosen for the design-build project.
This facility consists of a 259,000 square foot manufacturing building along with a 125,000 square foot office facility. Bob Moore Construction built the entire structure, including all finish out. The facility houses top secret programs associated with LTV's Missiles and Electronics Division. Through recent acquisitions, the former LTV Corporation is now a division of Grumman-McDonald Douglas.
Products serviced by these facilities are the Army's multiple launch rocket system as well as long range, non-nuclear guided missile systems. The facility has massive overhead cranes and material handling systems that enabled LTV to assemble components of NASA's space shuttles and Boeing's wide body aircraft in this building. Because of exceptional security conditions, LTV's buildings presented stringent requirements.
