Moore Construction was the general contractor for the 201,500 SF distribution
center located in Waxahachie, Texas, built for First Industrial Realty Trust.
In 2005 First Industrial Realty Trust had the opportunity to expand their north Texas properties with a new distribution center in Waxahachie, a growing city just south of Dallas. They worked with general contractor Bob Moore Construction to create a new 201,500 SF building to meet the tenant's current needs, with space for future growth.
The new tilt-up construction distribution center features 26 loading
bays and a 32-foot ceiling height in the warehouse area. A small lobby and break
area welcomes visitors in the northeast corner. Space is available on the property
for up to 182,000 SF of building expansion. Various infrastructure additions were
also required to support the new building, to include extending gas lines by more
than a mile, putting in city sanitary sewer and water lines and building two streets.
