Site Preparation Underway For Town Center in Mansfield, Texas
Town Center West will feature 12-screen Cinemark theater, stores and offices

19, 2004 - ARLINGTON, TEXAS - Bob Moore Construction, general contractor,
has broken ground on the Town Center West project in Mansfield, Texas on behalf
of the developer, Kossman Development Company from Pittsburgh, PA. This 39-acre
site preparation project at the corner of FM Road 157 and Highway 287 will literally
lay the groundwork for the community's first multi-screen movie theater, as
well as other retail and office locations.
The new 42,000 SF Cinemark USA Theater will be the first business completed at Town Center West. Featuring 12 screens, the theater is slated to open by May 1, 2005. Town Center West will also include approximately 95,000 SF of space for other stores and offices.
"Town Center West will mean more business and jobs in the Mansfield," said Becca Hancock, President of the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce, "so we're excited working with all the new businesses that will be coming to our community. We're looking forward not only to the movie theater but to having more dining and more shopping opportunities as well."
The location for this project is a previously undeveloped, heavily wooded area with a small cemetery that dates back to the 1880s. Kossman Development Company worked with community leaders and local home owners over the past two years to address their concerns and create a mutually acceptable plan for Town Center West. The cemetery will not be disturbed as part of the development. To ensure proper respect is accorded to those interred in the cemetery and their decedents, this part of the property will be enclosed with fencing and maintained as a reflective area.
Bob Moore Construction is the general contractor and Wier and Associates in Arlington, Texas is the engineer for the site preparation and infrastructure work. This includes clearing trees, grading of 160,000 yards of soil, utilities, paving and landscaping. Part of this project will include the creation of a new interchange for Russell Lane and FM 157 and modifications to the area's drive approaches on Highway 287. Site preparation work is expected to be complete by January, 2005.
