Building Your Vision: Office Buildings

Date: March 20, 2019

If there’s one type of building that clients get passionate about it’s office buildings. It’s understandable; your company’s office is often people’s first impression of who you are as a company. Office space reflects on your company’s individual “personality” and “characteristics”.

Something many people don’t realize is how many methods of construction can be used to build office buildings of any size; steel frame, brick-and-mortar, and tilt-up construction.

Although tilt-up construction is far from new, innovations are still being made on this tried-and-true method. In a recent article in the Dallas Business Journal, Tilt-Up Concrete Association Executive Director Mitch Bloomquist was quoted speaking about how some Texas contractors have stacked two-story panels on top of four-story panels for Class-A office buildings. It’s innovations like this that keep our industry moving forward and saving all of our clients’ time and money.

For anyone who might be in the process of building a new office building, or will be starting the process in the future, it’s important to consider that not all GC’s do interior finish-out, some strictly do core & shell work. Some others only do interior finish-out. In my time at Bob Moore Construction, we’ve always worked with what the client needed. Some came to us with an interior-finish out firm already in hand while others have utilized the full spectrum of our experience.

Over our 72-year history, Bob Moore Construction has built office buildings with steel frame, tilt-up & pre-cast concrete in sizes ranging from 50,000 sqft to 200,000 sqft for clients like Medtronic, Pizza Inn, Galderma, All My Sons Moving, Cigna, and GM Financial. All those don’t even include numerous offices built in the Legacy Business Park in Plano and Mercantile Center in Fort Worth. In December 2018, construction was finished on our most recent office building for StratiFi Health in Plano.

Every company needs office space, whether it’s a building or space to be a part of a multi-use facility, like our current project for Signazon. Bob Moore Construction has over 72 years’ experience in this and other aspects of commercial construction. But it’s not the name of the company that builds your building; it’s the people. Never in my career have I worked with a team of dedicated professionals like the ones at Bob Moore Construction. Each one of them has the experience and know-how to get the job done. That’s how we keep our legacy building yours.
